Natural Stone Warehouse was never a building block in the bigger picture. It was the name of a liquidated company but it took 4 years to build up the courage to shed the name and break free of the general perception that all the business did was sell Natural Stone tiles. During these 4 years, they experimented with new product offerings, slowly built a small fabrication area and managed to stay in business by being different, staying current and always moving forward, no matter the struggle, strain and sheer fear of failure.
The time arrived in mid 2018, when it became clear that the company had to re-position themselves to take the next step forward and a name change and rebranding was necessary. Serkan and Karen, embraced this new challenge and within 3 months relaunched as CONTINUA, which directly translated from Italian, French and Spanish is keep moving, he/she continues. There is such an emotional attachment to this meaning as like many business owners, they kept going, regardless of the stakes or the curve balls thrown along the way.
CONTINUA, in the porcelain slab world, is a revolutionary technology where the compacting belt in the production is continuously moving forward. This streamlines the production and allows more time for customization and creativity. Once again, this was completely relevant to their story so Natural Stone Warehouse was rebranded to CONTINUA in October 2018.
They have since, extended the showroom to 1000m2, stretching from Paarden Eiland road through to Industry road, to include 3 showroom areas and an onsite fabrication workshop, consisting of 2 waterjet machines, a bridge saw, multiblade machine, edge polishing machine. The addition of interior designers to the team, offers the client an in-house design service which ranges from space planning, 3D renders, surface selection and custom furniture design. The focus is to offer a retail and fabrication service built on international product trends, state-of-the-art machinery and a team of visionary creatives and craftsman to redefine stone surfaces.
The team has grown to about 50 and the product offerings have been expanded to not only to Natural Stone tiles, but including Exotic Natural Stone Slabs, Porcelain tiles and large format Sintered Stone slabs, Vinyl & Oak flooring, Decorative tiles and with whatever the market is calling for.
The business has grown organically, shaped by both challenges and opportunities, and evolved with the addition of extended the service offerings to include waterjet cutting & edge polishing, fabrication & installation across walls, floors, countertops, the design and manufacturing of integrated basins and furniture, floor tiling and wall cladding and also refurbishment and cleaning & sealing of Natural Stone. The Continua team approaches every client interaction with an enquiring mind and focusses on the problem, rather than just pushing to sell, we strive to provide our customers with value engineered solutions, while offering a selection to completion approach.
